Chapter Twelve

“Today is the day,” Havoc declares.

“To… what?”

“I have decided to spice up our sex life.” The conviction in Havoc’s voice makes me a very, very wary man. Scrutinizing the demon before me, I debate which path to take. The path that will likely save my life, which is running off after telling him that I have too much work to do and then getting normal vanilla sex later when I have him already in bed. Or the path of no return.

“Okay… I’m going to hear your suggestion and then make my choice,” I say.

“We could have air sex, like jump off Menace’s back and screw on the way down. It’d be exhilarating and thrilling.”

“First off, those words mean the same thing. Second off, no. I think I have work to do,” I say, whipping out my excuse.

Havoc mutters to himself before staring at our “sex painting” we’d made using paint, our naked asses, and the “canvas” it came with. Is he trying to up that? “What about we paint the walls this time?”

“I do not want ass streaks across the wall. I’m already regretting letting you hang that painting up,” I grumble.

“Hmm… water sex. We’ll go down to Lily Pond and do the dirty there.”

“There’s a damn water monster in that pond,” I say, and the moment he grins, I realize that that was why he suggested it.

“I know.”

It’s so unbelievably hard not to roll my eyes at any of this. “What about sex… in bed?”

“Naaaah. Something more exciting than that. I got it! We’ll put an illusion on and tango on the table at some fancy restaurant!”

“Dear god, no. Illusions don’t make us invisible. Someone could touch us or see through the illusion. Can you imagine the outrage if the boss of the district is having sex on tables while everyone’s enjoying a good meal?” I ask.

Havoc clearly sees no issue with this.

“Okay… the only problem is… I have to go to my other house because there’s a book there that I promised I’d get Jacob since I think it might help. We need to keep working to see if we can help Jessa wake up without having to kill her first,” I say. “So… can it wait?”

Havoc growls so the whole world can hear his displeasure at that. “If I help you find this book in record time, I can fuck you into oblivion?”

“Sure.”

He grins, pleased by this idea.

“Pack some stuff since we might be there overnight,” I say as I head off to gather some things I might need. Once we’re set, I grab Menace, who was busy watching a YouTube tutorial for hotwiring a car, which should probably be concerning, and turn to Havoc who actually has his bag packed. I thought for sure there’d be more fit throwing over going to the house where Nicco, the vampire Havoc despises, lives.

“Ready?” I ask.

He smiles at me. “I am.”

How suspicious.
